Adding a second floor in an existing pole building more than one pole post frame building owner has an idea of adding a second floor inside their existing building.
Another option is adding an additional floor system between the ground floor and roof truss to create a two story pole building.
However adding a second floor to your pole barn is a more involved type of addition for your pole barn.
I have a 30x40 pole barn with lots of wasted vertical space.
Cons of multi level pole barns pole buildings with two or more stories have their shortcomings too especially when you start factoring in logistics.
I use re rod wire and or fiber depending on the sub grade and what the floor is going to be used for.
I will have 2x8x12 16 on center floor joist douglas or hem fir grade 2 or better.
Anyone else do this or see it done.

I always recommend using reinforcing in all pole barn floors.
This can be done be adding a steep pitch attic roof truss or gambrel frame attic roof truss.
A second floor in your pole barn will put additional stress on the wall columns.
